EMDB History and mission

EMDB was started in March of 2013 as a Residential construction and remodeling company founded on the principle that every great project starts with a thoughtful design and that the project will only be successful through efficient Project Management.   Our Workmanship is second to none, and effective communication, organization and scheduling make the construction process smooth and seamless.  We strive for perfection while keeping a clean, orderly and safe work environment.

Green Compass

An important part of our mission is to use green technologies and high performance building techniques to limit a projects impact both locally and globally.  We are guided by “The Green Compass” and green solutions will be offered at every step of the way.  EMDB subscribes to the mantra of Reduce, Re-use, and Re-cycle whenever possible.  Items are sourced locally, demolished supplies are donated to local charities and interesting features and materials will be repurposed.

Who we are:

Evan McGlone:  Owner and Founder

I have been in custom home and remodeling industry since 2001 after graduating from Saint Mary's College of Maryland with a degree in Fine Arts with a focus in spatial drawing, sculpture and oil painting.  The building industry called to me as a way to express my artistic and creative talents while contributing to the built environment of everyday life.   Since 2001, I have been involved in every aspect of the building process: from excavating foundations to creating high quality built-in cabinets. I started out in construction in 2001 with Apogee Construction Inc. in the Annapolis, MD area as an apprentice carpenter and quickly moved from Construction Laborer, to Lead Carpenter, to Site-Supervisor. I relocated my family to Baltimore in 2009 after accepting a position as a project manager with a Baltimore based custom home builder.  From 2008-2013 I managed many successful projects in the Baltimore-Annapolis corridor. With the development of my new construction venture "EM Design Build, LLC",  I am looking forward to many years of helping clients in the greater Baltimore-Annapolis area realize the potential of their construction projects.
